Lester’s bio

P hilander’s business life started in school when his Economics teacher reffered him to an organisation called Junior Achievement (where he was required to start a business).
After the success gained from the program, he was then the only applicant who went on the write the International Cambridge exam which gave him international recognition..

Thereafter, he matriculated first in the school in business economics and economics and was awarded the Yvonne Parfitt bursary to complete his studies in business management.

4 years later, he graduated and found employment in the corporate world. He was promoted to management in his first year and was entrusted with huge responsibilities. It was also during this time, Philander met Nicole whom he married a few years later. As time went on, Philander grew too ambitious for the working world and did some industry analysis. In this activity he found a gap in the market and started Essential Candles (a candle manufacturing and distribution company).

Things started well but his naivety and arrogance eventually caught up and as mentioned above, lost almost everything. After the fall and 21 day hibernation, Philander found certain formulas to success, developed certain principle and saw most people making the same obvious mistakes he did

After channeling his new found focus, he started Phil-Con to assist other businesses drifting off into that same doomed path he was in. Philander assisted numerous entrepreneurs grow their businesses as well as an Incubator, he was a finalist in the business of the year awards in 2014, won a number of pitching awards and was named one of the top black youth entrepreneurs in the country. He now specializes in growing start-ups, coaching and mentoring as well facilitating access to finance through various platforms. Philander started young, obtained various qualifications, started working for the corporate world, started his own business a few years later, went bankrupt, forced to sell his prized possessions and lost a few friend and associates in the process. It was at that point, he got his snap affect. After this fall, he went into a 21 day ‘business hibernation’ where he refocused and got to the turning point.

4 years later, he graduated and found employment in the corporate world. He was promoted to management in his first year and was entrusted with huge responsibilities. It was also during this time, Philander met Nicole whom he married a few years later. As time went on, Philander grew too ambitious for the working world and did some industry analysis.
